Elizabeth Catlett
Elizabeth Catlett Mora was born on April 15, 1915 in Washington D.C. An
established American contemporary artist, Catlett Mora's art combines
elements of African traditions with those of pre-Colombian traditions.

Professor James A. Porter and Dr. Alain Leroy Locke. In the late 1940's
she decided to build a life in Mexico after experiencing American
segregationist and racist discrimination.

York, and The National Institute of Fine Arts in Mexico City. Catlett Mora
currently resides in Mexico. |
